Rules:  The layout of the contest is as follows: Each contestant will have 15 minutes to serve each of the four judges 3 drinks. An espresso, a cappuccino or latte art and a speciality drink of the barist's creation (single shot beverages). The drinks can be served in any order but must be served to the judges at the same time. BJRC will provide espresso, milk, ice and syrups as well as standard equipment (tamp, pitchers, spoons, shot glasses, thermometers, blenders...). Contestants should bring any unique ingredients for your specialty drink that you require. You can bring cups or use what we have around the store. Each contestant will be given 8 minutes prior to competing to get comfortable on the machine, set their grind, set up ingredients, etc., There will be 5 minutes for cleanup after time has expired. Any presentation setup is included in the 15 minute competition time.

There will be a written portion that testing on espresso and barista knowledge. You can work on this while other contestants are competing.

We have two espresso machines:  a two-group semi automatic Rancilio and 2-group automatic La Marzoco.
